RASU (Rusatom Automated Control Systems) will supply instrumentation and control (IC) systems for Kudankulam Units 3 and 4 (India).
An agreement to this effect was signed between RASU and AtomStroyExport (the project’s general contractor was signed in November. The IC system is central to ensuring safe operation of nuclear power plants and includes a process control subsystem, a normal operation subsystem and other subsystems to make nuclear plant operations reliable. In accordance with the contract, the systems will be delivered in 2018 for Unit 3 and 2019 for Unit 4. “Our Indian customer is well familiar with Russian-designed IC systems as they are used at Kudankulam 1 and Kudankulam 2. Our unparalleled solutions have proved to be safe, reliable and effective. Having a positive experience from our IC systems, our Indian colleagues want to have them installed at the new reactor units,” RASU CEO Andrei Butko noted.
