Clean water well on the shore of the Mediterranean
Four years after the approval process began for the first Turkish nuclear power plant in Akkuyu, the site is finally ready for the construction of marine hydraulic structures to begin. The recent groundbreaking ceremony was attended by: Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz; Rosatom CEO Sergei Kirienko; Andrei Karlov, the Russian Ambassador to Turkey; Özdemir Çakacak, Governor of the Mersin Province; Rosatom Overseas CEO Jomart Aliev; Akkuyu Nuclear CEO Fuad Akhundov; and representatives of various Turkish authorities and businesses.
