Akkuyu NPP. Installation of an internal containment shell (IEC) was completed at the Turkish Akkuyu NPP Unit 1. The IEC dome has a spherical shape and consists of 16 mounting sections weighing 215 tons. After concreting the dome part of the IEC, the final stage of construction and installation works of the outer containment will begin. Akkuyu NPP will include four units with VVER-1200 reactors. Currently, the simultaneous construction of all four blocks of the station and auxiliary facilities is underway. It is planned to complete the construction of the first unit in 2023.
