Akkuyu NPP. A console truss was installed at the Turkish Akkuyu NPP Unit 3. This is an important element of the core catcher, which, in the event of an emergency, reliably retains fragments of the core melt. The farm-console weighing 180 tons is responsible for the organization of communications: water supply, steam removal, ventilation, passage equipment. Thus, gas discharge pipelines ensure circulation of saturated steam and do not allow the pressure in the reactor shaft to exceed the permissible values. Rosatom is simultaneously building all four Akkuyu units with VVER-1200 reactors. After the launch, the station will provide up to 10% of Turkey’s total electricity.
