Armenian  NPP. Rosatom has completed a project to modernize and extend the service  life of the Armenian NPP until 2026. “Thanks to the implementation of a  whole range of measures, Unit 2 meets the latest international  requirements, and the station will continue to reliably provide  electricity to the residents of Armenia,” noted Rosatom head Alexey  Likhachev, who came to the station on a visit. The Armenian NPP,  consisting of one unit with a capacity of 440 MW, produces more than a  third of the country’s electricity. The Armenian authorities are  considering  extending the life of the station for another 10 years, as  well as the construction of a new nuclear power plant.
