  • Audit. Akkuyu Nuclear’s integrated management system (IMS) passed the first surveillance audit for compliance with the requirements of international standards. The auditors inspected the Akkuyu NPP construction site and examined documents at the company’s offices in Ankara and Moscow. Audited were the management processes in engineering, construction, installation and commissioning. Organization of supply chain audits, alertness of mobile response units, improved safety culture at the contractors’ sites, and other factors were named by the auditors among the strengths of Akkuyu Nuclear’s IMS. The Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant will have four power units with Russian-designed Generation 3+ VVER reactors.

    ROSATOM’s engineering company NIKIMT-Atomstroy successfully passed an audit of its quality management system. The audit was to confirm that the system conforms to the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 and that the company is a full-fledged supplier of equipment for Kudankulam NPP (India). The audit was conducted by specialists of Atomstroyexport, which is the prime construction contractor of the Indian plant. “Results of the audit that covered all items of ISO 9001:2008 standards, as well as processes our company uses in its work at Kudankulam Units 1 and 2, confirmed that all elements of the quality management system conformed with the requirements of the standard and are a striking example of the successful and effective systemic interaction of all structural units of NIKIMT-Atomstroy,” Irina Nikolayeva, the Head of Quality and Permits Department of the company, commented on the event.
