Collaboration. A delegation from the Russian nuclear industry visited Hungary to strengthen bilateral cooperation. The delegation included representatives from Rosatom and Russian nuclear host communities. The program featured several discussions, visits to Hungarian twin cities, and meetings with their mayors. “Our partnership with Hungary in peaceful uses of nuclear energy is a bright chapter in the history of our two countries, and a symbol of a long-standing, strong friendship. The relationships between our twin cities — Paks and Novovoronezh, Tamási and Volgodonsk, Kalocsa and Polyarnye Zori, Dunaföldvár and Zarechny, Gerjen and Desnogorsk, and Harkány and Kursk — are a clear testament to that,” said Tatyana Terentyeva, Rosatom’s Deputy Director General for Human Resources. The delegation also visited the site of the Paks II NPP, where two units with Russian-designed VVER-1200 reactors will be built. “Tolna County, where the nuclear power plant is being constructed, is an industrially developed region. We are interested in developing industrial cooperation with the Voronezh Region, as well as adopting best Russian practices in urban development and social initiatives,” said János Süli, a member of the Hungarian National Assembly.
