Construction sites. Two overhead cranes were installed in the turbine hall of Akkuyu Unit 2. After the cranes are commissioned, the workers will be able to proceed with installing large-size machines and other equipment involved in the process of electricity generation, including key parts and components for the turbine and the generator. Overhead cranes with a lifting capacity of 350 and 15 tonnes are mounted on the upper tier of the turbine building. They are managed via a single control system that eliminates the possibility of overloading and collisions. An overhead crane with a lifting capacity of 30 tonnes is installed on the lower tier and is used for the handling and maintenance of the main feed pumps on the turbine island of Unit 2. The overhead cranes are designed to carry out installation and maintenance operations throughout the service life of the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant. They will be used to lift heavy loads, move equipment, and do upgrades and repairs.
