Construction sites. PetrozavodskMash (part of Rosatom’s mechanical engineering division) has shipped an emergency core cooling system (ECCS) tank for Unit 4 of China’s Xudabao NPP. The system is designed to automatically supply coolant to the reactor, which may be required in case of a pressure drop in the primary circuit. Each reactor’s ECCS has four such tanks. Rosatom is involved in the construction of four power units at two Chinese nuclear power plants, Xudabao and Tianwan. Rosatom’s mechanical engineering division has already manufactured 95% of the contracted equipment for these units, including four VVER-1200 reactors and 16 steam generators. By the end of 2025, production of all components for the nuclear island will be completed.
