Construction sites. Rosatom has manufactured the bottom of the reactor vessel for the Akkuyu NPP Unit 4 under construction in Turkey. The operation took place in two stages. First, a steel billet in the form of a pipe was bent under the pressure of a press into a sheet of metal. Then the “hood” of the bottom was carried out. A round billet weighing 64 tons was heated for six hours at a maximum temperature of more than 1000 degrees. Then, with the help of a crane, the billet was transferred to the die equipment and the bottom of the reactor was formed. In Turkey, Rosatom is simultaneously building four units of the Akkuyu NPP with VVER-1200 reactors.
