Cooperation. A delegation from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) headed by Director General Raphael Grossi visited the Kursk NPP and the city of Kurchatov. The visit was organized at the invitation of Rosatom chief Alexey Likhachev. Rafael Grossi had a chance to see for himself that Kursk Unit 3 continues to operate at installed capacity while Unit 4 is under preventive maintenance. The IAEA Director General was told about the design features of RBMK reactors and progress of construction works at Kursk II, which are going on as planned. Rafael Grossi could also assess nuclear safety risks posed by attacks on the facility.
