El-Dabaa NPP. The ship with the first large-sized equipment for the El-Dabaa nuclear power plant sailed to Egypt. The batch includes three main components of the core catcher: body, filler and maintenance platform. The core catcher is a container in the form of a steel cone, which, in the event of an emergency, holds fragments of the core melt and does not allow them to go beyond the hermetic shell of the reactor building. The equipment will arrive at the El Dabaa at the end of March. Earlier, Egypt announced the start of operation of the sea pier at the site of the nuclear power plant.
