El-Dabaa NPP. At the construction site of the El-Dabaa nuclear power plant  in Egypt, the quality check of the foundation slab of the Unit 1 nuclear island was completed. At the end of April, the first concrete was poured into the foundation of the first power unit. The scope of work amounted to more than 30,000 cubic meters of concrete with about 10,000 tons of reinforcement installed. “This is a key event in the production program for all organizations involved in the construction of the plant,” emphasized Alexey Kononenko, Vice President of ASE, Director of the El-Dabaa NPP construction project. El-Dabaa nuclear power plant will consist of 4 power units with a capacity of 1200 MW each with VVER-1200 reactors.
