Energy storage. RENERA (part of Rosatom) has begun construction of a plant for the production of lithium-ion storage devices in Kaliningrad (Russia). The enterprise with a capacity of 4 GWh per year will start operating in 2025. This is enough to equip 50,000 electric vehicles annually. According to experts, by 2030 there will be 220,000 electric vehicles in Russia, in which case RENERA plans to expand production: launch the second and third stages of the plant and reach 14 GWh of total capacity. Today, RENERA produces stationary energy storage systems and traction lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles.
