Environment. Rosatom organized a seminar in Tajikistan on the remediation of legacy uranium mining sites. Russian and Tajik experts discussed the potential of a dedicated radioactive waste management center at the state-owned company, Tajikredmet. The Russian representatives reaffirmed its readiness to continue providing comprehensive support to Tajikistan, sharing expertise and advanced solutions for the remediation of legacy uranium sites. The meeting took place under the framework of the Russia–Tajikistan intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in remediating sites affected by uranium mining and ore processing activities. Earlier, Rosatom successfully completed a remediation program at the Taboshar mine in the Sughd region of Tajikistan.
