Experience sharing. Attendees of a joint workshop organized by Rosatom and the IAEA discussed small modular reactor (SMR) technologies. They were introduced to the latest methods in thermal, hydraulic, neutronic, and multi-physics calculations, as well as advanced tools for the verification and validation of computational codes. The attendees visited VR laboratories at the National Research Nuclear University (MEPhI) and had a chance to use virtual technologies in studying the operation of a research reactor. International specialists also had a training session in neutron modeling. Visiting ZiO Podolsk, one of Rosatom’s manufacturing sites, they learned how nuclear power equipment is produced. Finally, the guests were offered virtual technical tours to the Beloyarsk Nuclear Power Plant and the Akademik Lomonosov floating power unit.
