Fuel. Rosatom’s fuel company TVEL delivered to China a modernized ultrasonic unit for quality control of fuel rod welds. The control is carried out using a high-precision scanning unit, and the installation is equipped with a modern linear drive and a flaw detector. It will be used at the Yibin plant in Sichuan province on the production line for the fabrication of Russian-designed nuclear fuel TVS-2M for VVER-1000 reactors. Four power units with reactor plants of this type are currently in operation in China as part of the Tianwan NPP.
