Hungary. On August 21, 2023, Paks II NPP general contractor AtomStroyExport (part of Rosatom) commenced with the works for the principal phase of the nuclear construction project. More specifically, AtomStroyExport gave orders to start the production of key power engineering equipment for the two power units with Generation III+ VVER-1200 reactors. This was made possible with signing amendments to the construction contract on August 18 and the Hungarian project owner Paks II Nuclear Power Plant Ltd. issuing an official notice to that effect.
