In 2021, Russian nuclear power plants set an absolute record for electricity generation – over 222.436 billion kWh (compared to 215.74 billion kWh last year). This made it possible to save more than 111 million tons of CO2-equivalent emissions (if the same amount of electricity was generated by thermal generation). The share of nuclear power generation in Russia is over 20%.
