New Equipment. Rosatom produced two key pieces of equipment for Rosatom’s nuclear projects abroad. The first is the lower half-shell of the reactor for the Tianwan NPP Unit 7 in China. It consists of two shells and a bottom with the total weight of the structure surpassing 160 tons. The second piece is the bottom of the reactor vessel for the Akkuyu NPP Unit 4 under construction in Turkey. The operation took place in two stages: first, a forged steel billet in the form of a pipe was bent into a sheet of metal. Then, the round billet was heated at a temperature of more than 1000 degrees, moved to a tooling and shaped into the bottom of the reactor.
