New fuel. Rosatom has developed a new nuclear fuel for the PIK high-flux research reactor. It will increase the operation of the reactor many times over in compliance with safety standards and the criteria laid down in the project. PIK is a megascience class facility, the world’s largest beam-type reactor with a capacity of 100 MW, which makes it possible to place up to 50 scientific stations on extracted neutron beams. The reactor was launched last year.
