New icebreaker. The new universal nuclear-powered icebreaker Sibir, which has recently become part of Atomflot, has successfully completed its first operational voyage. The nuclear-powered vessel took the motor ships Turukhan and Terskiy Bereg from the Barents Sea to the port of Dudinka. The icebreaker proved its ability to operate effectively in both open sea and in shallow water, providing commercial speed of escorting even with ice thickness up to one and a half meters.
