New Icebreaker. New nuclear icebreaker Ural has completed sea trials. The team of the Baltic Shipyard, the crew of the Ural and representatives of contractors have been checking the operation of the nuclear-powered ship for more than two weeks in the Gulf of Finland. Ural will be the seventh Rosatom nuclear icebreaker and the third icebreaker of the latest Project 22220. These nuclear-powered ships are able to pass ice up to three meters thick. They work both on the deep water routes of the Northern Sea Route and at the mouths of polar rivers, varying the draft to different depths.
