New NPP. Construction of the highest cooling tower in Russia has been completed at the site of the Kursk NPP-2 in Russia. The height of the tower of Unit 1 is 179 meters. The Kursk NPP consists of four power units with a total capacity of 4,000 MW. In a few years, Kursk NPP Unit 1 will be stopped with new units being built to replace them – they are based on the VVER-TOI project with VVER-1300 reactors.
