Northern  Sea Route. Rosatom has increased the volume of cargo transportation  along the Northern Sea Route.  The company summed up preliminary results  of the winter-spring navigation of December 2021 – June 2022 when  nuclear-powered icebreakers provided 424 ship escorts.  The total gross  tonnage amounted to 44.1 million tons compared to 40.13 million tons in  December 2020 – June 2021.  Today, Rosatom operates six nuclear-powered  icebreakers with four more under construction.
