Northern Sea Route. The Hydrographic Enterprise of Rosatom has completed a record volume of surveys of the water area of ​​the Northern Sea Route. Based on the results of the summer-autumn navigation in 2022, a survey of 45,200 linear km of the bottom topography was carried out. This is the highest figure in the history of modern Russia. “In the coming years, an increase in cargo traffic to the east is expected, however, the eastern section of the Northern Sea Route is cartographically less studied than the western one. In total, more than 30,000 linear kilometers were explored in the eastern section, which is approximately 67% of the total amount of work,” said Andrey Oleinikov, Chief Engineer of the Hydrographic Enterprise.
