The water chemistry laboratory at the Akkuyu NPP (being built by Rosatom in Türkiye) has been internationally recognized as a “Laboratory of Excellence.” The laboratory successfully passed an independent audit, which marks an important milestone in preparing for the accreditation under the General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories international standard. Akkuyu Nuclear CEO Sergey Butskikh noted: “Water is just as strategically crucial for a nuclear power plant as technology. The independent assessment of measurements at our water chemistry laboratory confirms that we are building a quality control system in line with the best global practices. This is further proof that the safety culture at the Akkuyu NPP is being actively shaped as early as during the preparation for the plant’s commissioning.”
