Paks-2. Director General of Rosatom Alexey Likhachev and Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto discussed progress on the Paks-2 NPP project.  The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 66th IAEA General Conference in Vienna. The parties noted the importance of the transition of the Paks-2 NPP project to the construction phase after obtaining the main licenses, and also discussed further steps that will allow construction to continue within the agreed schedule.  In late August, the Hungarian Nuclear Authority issued a permit for the construction of two VVER-1200 Generation III+ power units.  The construction license for this type of power units has been issued for the first time in the EU.  Obtaining the license confirms the compliance of new units with Hungarian and European safety standards.
