Proryv. The base plate for the BREST-OD-300 reactor was successfully delivered to the construction site of the Pilot Demonstration Energy Complex (PDEC) in Seversk (Russia). It is a welded metal structure with a diameter of more than 21 m and a weight of 176 tons. The plate will be installed in the shaft of the reactor building, its task is to equalize the loads on the foundation from the elements of the reactor vessel. The unique lead-cooled fast neutron reactor BREST-OD-300 is being built as part of the Proryv project. A plant for the fabrication and refabrication of fuel will also operate at the complex. The goal of the Breakthrough project is the industrial implementation of a closed nuclear fuel cycle. BREST is scheduled to be put into operation in 2027, and PDEC will be fully operational in 2030.
