Rooppur. Concreting of the dome of the inner containment shell of the reactor building of Rooppur NPP Unit 2 began in Bangladesh. It is planned to lay more than 3,200 cubic meters of concrete on a reinforced concrete structure with a height of 17.6 meters and a base diameter of 42.8 meters. The inner containment is one of the key elements of the nuclear power plant safety system. It not just protects the reactor compartment, but also provides support for pipeline penetrations and the polar crane, with which the nuclear reactor is serviced. Rooppur NPP will consist of two power units with VVER-1200 reactors.
