Rosatom will build a small-scale nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan. Surveys have been completed on the selected site, with its fitness for purpose and safety confirmed, which allows the parties to proceed with the project without delay. The design of the nuclear power plant to be built in the Jizzakh Region relies on Russia’s latest water-cooled water-moderated RITM-200N small modular reactor, a former marine technology modified for onshore applications.
