Small reactors. Ghana and Russia hosted an event on small modular reactor (SMR) technology. Rosatom experts spoke about the advantages and technical features of SMRs, safety aspects, as well as the process of their licensing. Ghanaian experts shared their vision of the prospects for the development of the country’s nuclear energy. Head of the Division of Nuclear and Alternative Energy, Ministry of Energy of Ghana, Robert B.M. Sogbaji said that Ghana’s Ministry of Energy was developing the National Energy Transition Plan that would help the country transition to cleaner energy, in which nuclear power plays a critical role.
