Stator of the most powerful turbogenerator in Russia has been installed at Kursk-2 NPP, where the innovative VVER-TOI reactor unit with a capacity of 1255 MW is being built. The turbogenerator consists of two main parts: a rotor and a stator. Inside the fixed stator, a rotor rotates. It is a powerful accumulator of mechanical energy that is involved in the conversion of mechanical energy into electrical energy. The turbine generator of Kursk-2 NPP will generate 25% more electricity than two electric machines currently produce at the operating Kursk NPP.
