The Belarusian NPP provides 40% of the country’s electricity needs, which was achieved after the second power unit was put into commercial operation in November 2023. The nuclear power plant in Belarus is the first facility with Generation III+ VVER-1200 reactors to have been commissioned by Rosatom abroad. Belarus is now a global leader by the share of nuclear in its energy mix.
