Czech Future
back to contentsAccording to the agreement the three leading Czech enterprises – ZAT, HOCHTIEF CZ and UJV Rez are taking responsibilities of cooperation with the Consortium in case of its victory in the tender for further construction of the units 3 and 4 of the Czech nuclear plant. The MIR.1200 Consortium today is one of the three bidders for the “Temelin” NPP further construction. The head of it is SKODA JS, which invited Atomstroyexport and OKB Hydropress for cooperation, the two companies being Rosatom’s affiliates.
The project of the MIR.1200 international reactor is considered by experts to be one of the best of the NPPs of the generation 3+, combining the most up-to-date active and passive safety systems. The Czech-Russian consortium welcomes Czech companies to take part in the NPP building. Earlier it signed supply contracts with two significant companies – I&C Energo a.s. and PSG-International a.s. Thus the parties are obliged to cooperate in case of the consortium’s victory at the tender. The new contract again proves that the Czech industry will take a big part in the NPP further construction, if МIR.1200 is the head of it.
“These contracts specify exactly the obligations of both parties. They clearly define the specific responsibility and elaborate the scope of works,” – explained Josef Perlik, the Director of the NPP Engineering division at Skoda JS, the leader of MIR.1200 Consortium. “At the same time, provided submitted offers, we can check at any time which subcontractors do these companies sign further contracts with. Thus we’ll stay sure that 75% of the orders will truly stay in the Czech Republic”.
Exclusive Partnership
The companies ZAT and HOCHTIEF CZ offer exclusive cooperation to MIR.1200 Consortium. The former will supply Automatic Process Control System (ASU TP) for common operation in case the Czech-Russian consortium wins the tender. UJV Rez will take part in compiling the project documentation of nuclear and turbine islands and also in developing working documentation for the NPP construction.
“Cooperation with MIR.1200 Consortium is a clear choice for us. As the only bidder for completion it guarantees future involvement of Czech industry not just in the form of marginal supplies but important technological units,“ said Vladislava Cesakova, executive director of ZAT. General director of the company HOCHTIEF CZ Tomas Bilek, speaking about the exclusive cooperation, added the following: “We have a long-term experience with nuclear energy. Our company has had a significant part in construction of first and second units at Temelin, and conducted supplies to other nuclear power plants across entire Europe. Today we want to capitalise on these experiences, completing “Temelin”. MIR.1200 Consortium offers us the best opportunity.“
HOCHTIEF CZ will be responsible for construction part of the nuclear island. Today´s signing of the contracts is another proof that maximum involvement of Czech industry is the main strategy of MIR.1200 Consortium” – stressed Leos Tomicek, executive vice-president of Rusatom Overseas. “Our project will ensure the level of localisation at 75 percent, which will undoubtedly have a very positive effect on the development of Czech industry and the entire Czech economy“.
