A seminar on “Safety culture and human factor” was held in the Balakovo NPP, Saratov region, with the participants of the German “Biblis” NPP representatives.
The seminar was organized as a part of bilateral cooperation between stations (TWINNING). The companies have had more than 20 years’ partnership. At the seminar they discussed the current conditions on the Russian and German plants, goals and evaluation systems in safety sphere, station personnel training in terms of human factor. German delegation visited power unit 3 and the NPP information center. At the end of the seminar the two parties expressed mutual satisfaction with the work done and looked forward to further cooperation.

May 29 in Dhaka (Bangladesh) Rosatom will hold a seminar on public acceptance of atomic energy.
As we know, 200 km near Dhaka the Rosatom specialists are going to build the Ruppur NPP, the first nuclear station of the country. The construction starts in 2014. From 2015 the main stage is planned to be started, which will last for about 5 years. The NPP will have two power units 1 000 MW each. Russia gives Bangladesh a $ 500 million credit for the construction – the cost of the first four contracts, as explained Sergey Kiriyenko.

Rosatom organizes a round-table session on big nuclear business at Saint-Petersburg International Economic Forum which will take place on June 20-22 in the Northern Capital of Russia.
The forum is a special ground where the world leaders would be able to discuss the most important issues of our days, such as political challenges, economic and social consequences of the global crisis, unstable recovery of the world’s economy, changes on the world’s arena and new technological opportunities. Since this year Russia is a Chairman of the Group of Twenty, SPIEF will receive the G20 summit members.

The 25-th conference on thermonuclear synthesis of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will be held on October 13-18, 2014 in St-Petersburg.
The preparation and arrangementsare assigned to State Corporation Rosatom. Such IAEA conferences, the main meeting venues for international thermonuclear synthesis experts, are held biannually. The first conference was held In Austrian Saltsburg in 1961.

Atomic specialists from Hungary during their working visit to the Kola NPP, Murmansk region, gave a high mark to the NPP’s reactor control and protection system, says the station’s press-center.
The specialists were mostly interested in operation process and modernization of automated control system of the units, currently worked on at the NPP. “We specially want to emphasize the work on software and hardware complex of emergency and alarm systems of unit 3; our Russian colleagues made a really big push here” – said a representative of Hungarian delegation.

Russia is interested in possible participation in construction of NPP in Great Britain.
This question is to be discussed this June on the G8 Summit in Northern Ireland. However the head of Rosatom Sergey Kiriyenko emphasized that Russia hadn’t yet made a decision to take part in the British nuclear power program. It is necessary to study the conditions the UK government offers to investors taking part in the construction, he added. “We have to look through all the details and understand what scope of work we have to go through for technological preparation, however the possibility of this partnership interests us a lot”, – said Sergey Kiriyenko.
