During its visit to Russia a delegation of government executives of Hungarian cities visited SPbAEP, Rosatom’s engineering company.
The country now is studying possibility of developing nuclear energy and shortly plans to post a tender for new power units’ construction. Vladimir Bezlepkin, Deputy Director for Scientific Engineering of the Russian company told the guests about fundamental safety principles of the “AES-2006” project and its key parameters. A virtual control panel of NPP, helping designers to test NPP projects by checking control patterns and design solutions of a project and find ways of design optimization by modelling various situations was demonstrated to the guests. The visitors also saw a new hardware-based expo complex, demonstrating “AES-2006” in 3D and showing its work from inside.

In Central Mechanical Engineering Design Bureau (part of Rosatom’s machine-building division – Atomenergomash) an offloading of a new batch of equipment for the Indian Kudankulam was conducted.
That’s where the main circulating water pumps GCNA-139 are installed. The offloaded batch costing RUB 31million includes oil cooler, torsion bars, O-rings and other GCNA-1391 equipment that will be used for schedule preventive maintenance. The Bureau has a long-term experience in GCNA design and production. Machinery is used for creating thermal medium circulation in a pile assembly primary circuit and bears additional function of reactor cooling in case of electricity supply failure.

Atomenergomash develops cooperation with French machine-building colossus Alstom – a new order for equipment was received.
The specialists of the Ukranian Energomashspetsstal previously had produced for Alstom a generator rotor and gas and steam-turbine plant rotor within the bounds of NPP low-speed turbine production based on the ARABELLE technology. The French colleagues were quite satisfied with the result and offered EMSS a new order. The enterprise will produce a high-pressure turbine rotor weighing 55 tons and a composite rotor of a low-pressure turbine with total weight of 171 tons, consisting of two shanks and eight disks. The parts are meant for the low-speed turbine of the Baltic NPP that will be produced by Alstom-Atomenergomash joint enterprise. The equipment will undergo a complete production circle and in 2014 will be shipped to the client.
