back to contentsThe delivery of the first batch of the Kvadrat fuel assembly (TVS-K), produced by NCCP (Novosibirsk Chemical Concentrates Plant) is planned for February 2014, as it was announced at the meeting in Novosibirsk. During the meeting the President of TVEL (Rosatom’s fuel company, NCCP being part of it), Yury Olenin, noted that the production of TVS-K (for PWR and BWR reactors) was developing quite successfully. “The first supply to Sweden will be done as early as in February; the situation is quite good at the American market as well”- said Mr. Olenin. According to him, NCCP, for its further successful development, should increase the TVS-K production and try to be effective in cost reduction”. The contract with Swedish Vattenfall Nuclear Fuel for the next batch (4 to 8 assemblies) for unit 3 of the Ringhals NPP was signed in February 2012.
The MFA of the RF and the Embassy of the US exchanged notes prolonging Russian-American partnership concerning coming-in of Russian research reactor nuclear fuel back to Russia. According to new agreements, the term of the contract made in 2004 in Moscow will be prolonged for another 10 years’ period. Besides, the parties decided to make changes in the definition “nuclear fuel of research reactors (nuclear fuel)”, adding the notion “spent nuclear fuel” (including liquid). Now the definition is: “Nuclear fuel of research reactors (nuclear fuel) – research reactors fuel assemblies, irradiated fuel assemblies of research reactors, nuclear materials, spent nuclear fuel (including liquid) produced in the Russian Federation”. The offer of alterations and prolongation came from the American party.
In Finnish Oulu they want to start flights for Russian tourists. Oulu is situated in the north of Finland, on the Gulf of Bothnia coast, not far from the future NPP site. Among other tourists coming to the town and staying at least one night in 2013 Russians made the majority. According to Mikko Keisu, working with guests from Russia, most Russians come from northern regions, such as Murmansk. He is hoping that soon there will be flight connection established between the capital of Russia and Oulu, especially since Rosatom has signed the agreement with Fennovoima on NPP construction in Pyhajoki. Mr. Keisu believes those are high quality goods and tax-free low prices that attract tourists.
AEM-technologies engineering company (part of Rosatom’s engineering division – Atomenergomash) will produce 8 steam generators for units 1 and 2 of the Belarus NPP, currently under construction. The company also installed collectors, bearings, set of spare parts and other devices. “Equipment supplies to the NPP site for unit 1 is planned for 2016; for unit 2 – for 2017”, – said Evgeny Pakermanov, AEM-Technologies General Director. Steam-generator is a first-class safety device.
Russian bank VTB guarantees an on-time delivery to the Tianwan NPP by the Tambov plant. It provided two advance repayment guarantees to the “Komsomoletrs” Tambov plant in favor of Dong Guan Chinese electronic company with the total sum of $430 thousand. The Tambov plant, speaking about nuclear energy field, specializes in tanks and vessels, mechanic and hydraulic steering devices and heat-exchange equipment. Besides, the plant produced equipment for food, oil, chemical, power and other industries. The equipment is supplied both to Russian and foreign enterprises.
