Forum of high technologies
back to contentsThe forum included round-table sessions on: machine engineering products for energy generation; supercomputer-based modeling technologies to solve strategic tasks of the industry; state-of-the-art technologies of design and construction of complex engineering facilities; automation of processes in energy generation and industry; prospects of application of superconducting materials; modern safety and security technologies; non-energy use of nuclear technologies; and nuclear medicine.
ROSATOM booth hosted a topical presentation session of vendors who described their technologies and equipment. The round-table session on modern technologies for design and construction of complex engineering facilities raised a special interest with the participants. It was organized by representatives of ROSATOM’s engineering company Atomenergoproekt. Deputy CEO Leonid Yegorov noted Atomenergomash has accumulated great experience in building facilities (e.g., Novovoronezh NPP II) and design expertise, including pilot nuclear power units.
“The VVER-TOI design is a bright example of our work, which will be implemented at Kursk NPP II and Smolensk NPP II. Today we are ready to share the experience in the use of modern technologies in design and construction of complex engineering facilities with the roun-table session participants,” Leonid Yegorov said.
Segey Yergopulo, Director for Design Technologies at Atomenergoproekt, said the main requirements of modern customers were safety, quality, time of construction and economic efficiency of turn-key projects. All these requirements were taken account of in development of the Russian cutting-edge NPP design, i.e. VVER-TOI (Architect General is Atomenergoproekt).
In its work on the VVER-TOI design Atomenergoproekt used the best practices obtained in the course of construction of Novovoronezh NPP II where Atomenergoproekt is the Architect General and Principal Contractor. According to Alexander Sharipov, Manager of Atomenergoproekt’s Moscow-based design and engineering branch VVER Design Center, the construction and installation technologies and organizational solution used in the VVER-TOI design allow for substantial reduction the power unit construction time.
