€ 870 million to Slovenske Elektrarne 
Deputy CEO for International Activities of ROSATOM Nikolai Spasskiy held negotiations with the leadership of the Center for Atomic and Renewable Energy, which is responsible for development and implementation of the national nuclear power program, in Riyadh (the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia). The parties discussed perspectives and possibilities of setting an integrated cooperation between Russia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in nuclear and related industries. The Russian party explained in detail the unique competitive advantages of ROSATOM’s integrated offer in the international market. It also gave comprehensive answers to questions of the Saudi counterparts. In turn, the Saudi colleagues presented on the launch of the national nuclear power program. The parties completed the coordination of the draft intergovernmental framework agreement on the peaceful uses of atomic energy and agreed on the next steps towards its signing.

Contract for supplies of Li-7 to China 
The Novosibirsk Chemical Concentrates Plant of ROSATOM has signed a three-year contract for supplies of lithium-7 (Li-7) of 99.99% purity to China. NCCP CEO Konstantin Vergazov explained that through implementation of this contract “the Russian side gets an advantage of an early entrance to a new high-capacity market of highly enriched Li-7, which is being formed because of the product utilization in foreign research reactors of new types.” Currently, NCCP is the largest supplier of Li-7 hydroxide monohydrate; it covers up to 80% of the world needs. The product is used in nuclear, in particular, as an additive to the primary coolant of PWR reactors.
WANO at Kalinin NPP in November
Kalinin NPP hosts a preparatory visit for the World Association of Nuclear Operators’ (WANO’s) peer review mission, which is to be held on November 27 – December 12, 2014. “The peer review success depends on how the plant employees treat this event. The main thing for them is to understand that the peer review is neither an inspection nor competition, it is assistance in improving the plant operation,” head of the mission Lubomir Krenicky said. On his part, Kalinin Plant Manager Mikhail Kanyshev thanked the experts for the visit and expressed hope that the open dialogue and effective work would help to find areas for improvement and organize operations with ever higher reliability and become the basis for conducting the peer review at the highest level.
ROSATOM to cooperate Brazil and Argentina
ROSATOM is interested in expanding the cooperation with Latin America countries and hopes that the nuclear will be one of the core topics during the President of Russia’s visit to Brazil, ROSATOM CEO Sergey Kirienko said. “We have good contacts. In general, this market is not traditional for us where French, German and U.S. companies used to operate, Kirienko said. “Therefore, now we actively work with the partners towards Brazil and Argentina. So I hope that the nuclear topic will be one of topics for discussion in frames of the President’s trip.” He reminded that the main theme is the BRICS Summit, which member-states are key partners of ROSATOM.
