ROSATOM and NAC Kazatomprom signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation in the field of non-conventional (alternative) energy generation (solar and wind) and production of rare and rare-earth metals. The signed document provides for supplies of rare and rear-earth metal-based feed and end products to consumers in Russia and Kazakhstan and to third country markets, as well as supplies of equipment and its components, and knowledge exchanges. The memorandum implementation assumes a systems analysis of competences, production capacities and technologies available to the parties, as well as potential project financing sources. To achieve effective management of projects to be implemented under the signed memorandum, Russia and Kazakhstan will consider a possibility of establishing joint ventures.
