The Moscow Center of the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO-MC) has started a pre-startup peer review at Unit 3 of Rostov NPP. This is a standard procedure, which is carried out in line with the Interaction Plan of Rostov NPP and WANO-MC. During two weeks a team of international and Russian experts from WANO-MC will inspect the documentation and working places, interview the facility personnel on the following topics: organization and administration, operation, maintenance, engineering support, radiation protection, water chemistry, operating experience, training and qualification of the personnel, fire safety, and emergency preparedness. Based on the observations and interviews the experts will identify strong points in the operation and best practices that have already been introduces at Unit 3, as well as find out areas for improvement.
