A Submarine
back to contentsJapan has supplied Russia brand-new containers designed for storage of reactors from disposed nuclear submarines. Three containers have been already moored along the coast of the Japanese Sea and 50 more containers wait for shipment. The containers were built to the Japanese technology, which provides for the coating preventing corrosion induced by seawater and wind. Now, the containers are taken on the shore. At a special facility nuclear reactors will be removed from the submarines and placed in the containers. In addition to the containers, the Japanese government also sent cranes and other equipment to Russia.
