The Urals Electrochemical Combine (a company of the Fuel Company of ROSATOM TVEL, Novouralsk, Sverdlovsk Region) hosted a working visit of Nurlan Kapparov, the head of the Kazakh National Atomic Company Kazatomprom. During the visit, the issues of implementation of the Russian-Kazakh project “Uranium Enrichment Center” were discussed. After a tour of the uranium hexafluoride storage facility, process shop and “Shuttle” section of UECC, which are directly involved in fulfilling the order for the Center, the head of Kazatomprom noted a high level of technology and organization of UECC’s enrichment operations, science and technology potential available to the company, and all necessary competences for successful implementation of the project. “I am impressed; it is a power enterprise: scales, technologies, and production process at the world’s highest level,” Nurlan Kapparov concluded. “UECC can be trusted as a reliable partner. Our cooperation goes in the right direction and it will expand,” he said.
