back to contentsIn February, Russia and Egypt signed an agreement on the joint development of the first Egyptian NPP project. The agreement provides for two 1,200 MW units to be built at the initial stage, followed by two more units in the future. The project complies with the most stringent safety requirements. Two other agreements – on NPP construction and credit facility – are drafted by the governments of two countries. “We are looking for investment opportunities in the power industry. Co-financing of the nuclear power plant in Egypt is one of them. It will be a minority stake,” explains Mr. Dmitriev.
