End-to-end services

Andrei Nikipelov, CEO of Atomenergomash, Rosatom’s nuclear engineering division, took part in a round-table discussion on power engineering and global cooperation.

In the course of the discussion, Andrei Nikipelov said that end-to-end solutions were a key to success on international markets. They should include not merely engineering services and equipment deliveries, but also financial offers. He stressed the need for a more active involvement of dedicated financial institutions, particularly the Export Insurance Agency of Russia (EXIAR).

Round table participants noted that increased importance should be given to government support for the national power engineering industry, especially to government subsidies for R&D expenses, equipment upgrade, etc. Many of them pointed out that Russia needed a broader range of support tools that would help acquire deeper expertise in supplying certain types of equipment on the domestic market and rely on it when making proposals to international customers. Although important, Andrei Nikipelov said, government support does not solve all industry problems.

“Everyone plays its part in the process. The government’s primary task is to develop a regulatory framework and set strategic directions for the industry. They should be clear both for the customers and engineering companies as it will improve our cooperation and enable us to produce new equipment required by customers.”

In his report addressed to the meeting, Andrei Nikipelov spoke about Atomenergomash’s transition to providing an end-to-end offering for nuclear and turbine islands.

“As part of Rosatom’s integrated solution for the global market, we are now honing our end-to-end offering in Russia,” said Mr. Nikipelov.

In his opinion, end-to-end solutions give customers a host of advantages, such as end-to-end responsibility for all processes, smoother licensing and regulatory audit procedures and confidence in the highest quality as the entire production chain is controlled by the single provider of end-to-end solutions. Other benefits are streamlined logistics and decision making processes minimizing the risk of delays in production and delivery. Optimized production processes allow offering more cost efficient solutions while maintaining quality and delivery times. “This is how other businesses of Atomenergomash evolve. We offer end-to-end solutions for boiler islands in the heating industry and adopt the same approach in the shipbuilding segment,” Andrei Nikipelov stressed.
