The Central Research Institute for Machine Building Technology signed two agreements with the Indian company. They provide for the establishment of training centers in India, joint development and implementation of the end-to-end production technologies for the heavy and power engineering industries. “These agreements are an important component of the general Russian–Indian technological cooperation. They build a framework for a broad exchange of knowledge and expertise between our companies and lay a foundation for closer cooperation and large joint projects,” says Konstantin Kosyrev, Deputy Director for Research at the Central Research Institute for Machine Building Technology.

In particular, training centers will be organized in India in 2016 to provide training in four major areas for the employees of Heavy Engineering Corporation Limited. Teachers will experts from the Central Research Institute for Machine Building Technology. The training course will last 12 months, including the development and adaptation of teaching materials.

The plans to expand cooperation with India were first announced in 2014. That year Igor Mischenko, the Institute’s Director for Quality and Strategic Development, took part in a meeting of the working group on industrial modernization and cooperation of the Russian-Indian Commission for Trade, Economic, Scientific and Cultural Cooperation. The meeting was organized in New Delhi (India) where the parties expressed mutual interest in the development of long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation in the production of mining, steel making and other machines. The Indian party suggested drafting a list of project that might require the involvement of Russian producers and research organizations.
