Since then, ASE’s expertise and IBM’s software solutions have been combined to develop IBM Maximo for Nuclear Power, an unparalleled platform for the nuclear construction management.

The new document signed at the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum provides for the platform extension by adding a nuclear station information model created during the design and construction phases. The new solution is designed to accumulate and transfer all the design and construction data to the operation phase.

The partnership between ASE, the world’s leader in nuclear engineering, and IBM, a global leader of the IT solution market, will yield a comprehensive industry solution that will help optimize construction and operation processes early in the project and be useful further on, during the nuclear station start-up and operation.

Kirill Korniliev, IBM’s Vice-President for Sales in Central and Eastern Europe, noted that the cooperation was actually aimed at creating an ‘industry standard’ for more efficient and safe operation of nuclear power plants.

Valery Limarenko, CEO of NIAEP (ASE’s subsidiary), emphasized that the parties had made ‘a step towards becoming leaders’ in nuclear station design and operation systems.

The cooperation between ASE and IBM will give customers a new product. When opting for a Russian-designed nuclear construction projects, they will receive a unique comprehensive solution that brings nuclear station configuration and information management processes in line with IAEA’s plans on digitalization of nuclear project supervision and management.
