As reported at VVER-2016, an international conference organized in Prague, safe, reliable and efficient VVER reactors are likely to be used in the national nuclear development program. The conference was devoted to Russian water-water power (VVER) reactors owing their name to the use of water as both coolant and moderator. At present, VVER reactors are Rosatom’s core export products. The company is building 8 VVER reactor units in Russia and has 36 contracts for the construction of VVER reactor abroad.
