Fuel for Temelin
back to contentsTVS-4, the fourth generation of nuclear fuel from Russia, is going to be used at Temelin, a nuclear station built with Russia’s involvement in the Czech Republic, TVEL R&D Director Alexander Ugryumov was quoted as saying in the press release of Rusatom International Network. TVS-4 fuel assemblies were designed to increase cost efficiency of Russian-designed nuclear reactors. Thanks to specific design, they contain 8% more uranium as compared to previous models. As reported earlier, TVEL is willing to supply TVS-4 fuel to the Tianwan nuclear power plant built in China with Russia’s support.
